Congratulations to all the Off the Boat Graduates

Growing up in an immigrant family one learns that there are two things valued above all: babies (namely grandchildren so get workin’ on that) and of course, the other–EDUCATION!

It’s in all caps for a reason. That’s this blog yelling at you if you strayed from that 4.0 GPA. We all know immigrant parents can be tough on the school issues (tiger parents anyone?), but at the end of the day our parents help push us through school… and sometimes into therapy, but that’s for another blog post.

To all the happy graduates, whether high school or college, congratulations!!! Now go out there and start earning the big bucks. It’s time to pay your parents back!

Happy Graduation!

These cards are so true it’s funny. In my family, the discussion at graduation dinner was: GRANDCHILDREN…mainly how “how soon can you pop them out?” #typicalimmigrantconvo

yeah, pretty absurd. I think all immigrant parents must attend some sort of monthly meeting together…
